The Houston Project is more than a one-week mission trip. It is a movement. We want to see our city and our world transformed by the gospel of Christ. We believe that your students, along with other students from across the globe, are those who will change the world. Our desire is to invest in and equip the future generation of emerging leaders by teaching them what it means to live missional lives focused on the glory and kingdom of God. That is why we give your students the opportunity to be taught by some of the top teachers and leaders from across the world and to experience firsthand what it looks like to serve “the least of these.” Students serve in declining churches, apartment complexes, and throughout the inner-city of Houston seeking to provide restoration and hope to people and communities often deemed as broken and hopeless.
This is more than a trip. It is a movement.
This is the Houston Project.

We are the generation that will no longer sit back and remain silent. We are the generation that takes the call of Jesus seriously so we will give all that we are for the glory and kingdom of God. We are the generation that will do justice. We will go to the poor, broken, and voiceless declaring to them that they are loved and valued by a holy and beautiful God. We are the generation that will live lives of mercy because Jesus was merciful to us while we were his enemy. We are the generation that will walk in humility realizing that it is Jesus who holds all things together. We do not want to be a fad. We want to be the church, called out to a broken and hurting world with the message of hope, restoration, forgiveness, and love.
Inner-city mission projects in Houston began with a vision to field train the next generation of emerging leaders in evangelism and discipleship through missions. In July of 1992, 20 students embarked on a missionary journey to inner-city Houston to be the first to participate in this field-training endeavor. Over the past 15 years, the Lord has continued to expand and develop these projects. Currently, hundreds of students participate in the Houston Project each July, and hundreds more participate at various times throughout the year through the venues of Vacation Bible Schools, Service Projects, Prayer Walking, Homeless Ministry, Personal Discipleship, and more.
